Beginning Friday, June 12, 2020, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has announced that Texas will continue with Phase III of its reopening.
Beginning June 12, 2020
- Restaurants may increase their occupancy to 75%;
- space between tables is reduced to four feet apart, if a barrier is in place between tables;
- if no barrier is in place between tables, tables then need to be spaced six feet apart.
- Bars may increase their capacity to 50%.
Other Critical and non-Critical Sector’s guidance have not changed. Governor Abbott has also issued additional guidance regarding holding large outdoor events like 4th of July celebrations. Those events, including 500+ person events, are allowed to go forward, but local government authorities may require changes or modifications to the event (for COVID-19 safety reasons).
You can find a copy of the most recent guidance for businesses here. The Open Texas website also has checklists and key guidance for businesses in various industries that are reopening.
